The Ryman Auditorium The “Mother Church of Country Music,” the “Carnegie Hall of the South,” the “Soul of Nashville”...welcome to Ryman Auditorium, a 2,000- plus seat venue in the heart of Nashville with a history as deep as country roots. Named for its founder, a wealthy riverboat owner, the Ryman  first opened its doors in 1892 as the Union Gospel Tabernacle, but what many folks don’t know is that the Ryman was the original home of the  Grand Ole Opry. In fact, the Opry’s formative years were spent on Ryman’s stage, having featured the debuts of music titans Earl Scruggs and  Hank Williams, and hosting the very first meeting between Johnny Cash and June Carter. Even Patsy Cline became a member of the Opry at  the Ryman in 1960. And while the Grand Ole Opry has lived at a new venue since the seventies, the Ryman remains a vital music venue on the  Nashville circuit, and is a designated National Historic Landmark thanks to its pivotal role in the popularization of country music. Norwegian Fjords The evolution of the fjords began some three million years ago, when Norway was covered by an ice cap thinner along the coast than inland.  With the arrival of a milder climate, the ice began to melt and produce great waterfalls that logged the soil and descended to the sea. Surrounded now by steep rocky mountains, dissected by cascading waterfalls, and decorated  with thriving fruit trees, the fjords are among Earth's most inspiring landscapes. Radio City Music Hall In 1929, John D. Rockefeller, Jr. set out with his partners to transform a section of Midtown Manhattan, formerly known as "the speakeasy  belt," into their dream complex. Their first completed project in Rockefeller Centre was Radio City Music Hall, created to provide top  entertainment that was affordable to the public. For 80 years, the theatre has hosted the holiday tradition of the Radio City Christmas  Spectacular, starring the world-famous Rockettes. Referred to as the best holiday production in America, the Christmas Spectacular draws an  audience of one million people every year. This show blends the flawless choreography of the prestigious Rockettes with an abundance of  holiday pizzazz.
